Why does the Googlebook exist?

Chromebooks solved a real need 15 years ago. I’m not sure Google’s new Googlebook solves anything.

Lenovo’s new ThinkPad X13 is one of its lightest and most repairable.

Lenovo is announcing a new ThinkPad X13 Gen 7, launching this month with Intel Panther Lake and AMD Gorgon Point chips. The X13 starts at $1,499 and weighs as little as 2.03 pounds / 0.93kg. Lenovo also boasts the X13 scores a 9/10 repairability rating from iFixit.

New ThinkPad L14 and L16 models are launching alongside the X13, primarily for enterprise deployments.

The ThinkPad X13 Gen 7 has a decent port selection, including two Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm audio jack on the left of this Intel model.
On the right: just one USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 and a power button.

This Gundam-themed camera combines my geekiest obsessions.

Jaron Schneider of PetaPixel has a new piece in his personal Gunpla collection for me to be jealous of: a camera. The modified IUTD TBC (To Be Continued) 35mm film camera is hand-painted and decaled by Little Road Camera to mimic the original RX-78-2 Gundam.

I may have to do something extremely wicked… and order one of these.

A Gundam-themed film camera in a display case with a ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom MGEX Gundam model.
Go check out Jaron’s fun write-up on the camera here.

The $5,500 dual-screen Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo is ‘who is this for’ incarnate. But it slaps.

Asus’ Zenbook Duo is finally up for preorder but costs $400 more than expected.

The dual-screen Zenbook Duo I reviewed in January was said to cost $2,399.99 with an Intel Core Ultra X9 388H. Now preorders are open, but a base model costs $2,499.99 and the 388H configuration I tested will be $2,699.99. Ouch.

We reached out to Asus for the reason, but company reps did not immediately reply. Seems like RAMageddon claims another.

Hmm… 🤔 that photo in Framework’s keynote looks familiar.

While hyping up its couch keyboard, Framework CEO Nirav Patel showed images of how people use its computers in the living room. It gave me a Leo DiCaprio moment as I noticed a photo from my time testing Bazzite on the Framework Desktop. How about a photo credit, Nirav?
